One of our Rhode Island Old Growth Tree Society members has organized a casual meet-and-greet event for us to strengthen our community and enjoy some nature together.
Where: Goddard State Park, 1095 Ives Rd, East Greenwich, RI
When: Wed. July 8th from 5:30-7:30 (Rain date 7/9, same time)
What to bring: $5 suggested donation to cover the people bringing food and drink; Blanket or chair

(Past Event) Old Growth Tree Walk - March 14, 2025
FRIDAY MARCH 14 at 3:00 PM
This Friday, join Nathan Cornell of the Old Growth Tree Society for a guided walk in Cranston’s John L. Curran State Park at 3pm. You’ll experience a 100+ year old forest filled with a diversity of native tree species, including towering oaks and American Beech. Along the way, Nathan will explain old growth characteristics and tree species, as well as historic background about Rhode Island’s forest landscape. The walk starts in the parking area and goes along the Reservoir’s edge. The event is free. Sturdy shoes are recommended. In the event of heavy rain, it will be rescheduled.
